Engineer

This full-time position requires a B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering, and prefers experience in a manufacturing environment. A working knowledge of AutoCAD 2000, Quality Systems in manufacturing, and Microsoft Office software are required. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of power supply cords, cables and wiring harnesses.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provide direct assistance on a global basis to Sales and Customers on technical and quality related issues
Effectively communicate with manufacturing, sales and management verbally and through e-mail, AutoCAD drawings, photos and conceptual sketches
Coordinate domestic and international agency approvals (UL, CSA, VDE, etc.)
Perform relevant lab tests when required
Periodically assist with the generation of AutoCAD drawings and support information for proposal packages
Check AutoCAD drawings for accuracy to customer specifications and agency requirements
Continuously establish and implement improved manufacturing, inspection and quality standards (SPC, CPK, etc.)
Research and develop new products, based on customer needs and cost parameters
Establish and implement formal engineering procedures
Continuously improve the quality of all technical documents
Analyze and provide creative solutions to problems as they arise in a timely manner
Generate formal Corrective Action Reports in conjunction with Manufacturing, Sales and Customers to meet Customer deadlines.
Assist with technical and product bulletins

Some travel is required to visit customers with sales team, as needed.

Required Skills:

· In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures
Strong knowledge of quality procedures, documentation and techniques in manufacturing
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn rapidly and work effectively with minimum supervision
Leadership and initiative
Current knowledge of power supply cords, cables and wiring harnesses is preferred
